ABOUT VRC

Artist Statement....

for me art is a continuous revolving process and not being content with the traditional way, my creations reflect my need to explore and experiment to create my innovative works.  I use light weight materials for my dimensional paintings which one perceives to be heavier.  While some of my art will appear to be the same, no two pieces are ever exaclty alike.  My work is created from several art forms and mixed media.  My vision of art is principally of an abstract nature and through my art I am able to express myself.

VRC

Virginia Ruth (Bartee) Coleman was born in Virginia and then moved to New Jersey where she resided for many years with her parents and siblings. Both parents have varied levels of artistic abilities and have inspired her. Years later the family moved back to their native home of Buckingham, Virginia. This is where Virginia's love of art was encouraged greatly by the renowned teacher Mr. John Mogul for many years.
She has experience working with many forms of artistic expression including painting, drawing, jewelry design, poetry, mixed media, assemblage art, sculpting, and digital art.

About the Business

In 2004, Virginia began to focus her energy towards creating dimensional art that would be light in weight and appealing. As her art changes and grows over time, Virginia continues to learn and is dedicated to further developing her ideas, skill, and artistic abilities. She makes her home in Chesterfield, Virginia with her husband, where she designs and creates all of her one of a kind art in her home office/studio. Her works on display and for sale at the Art Works Studios/Galleries in Richmond, VA.

I have made the choice to limit my art to one of a kind pieces.

I rarely create prints and when I do they are limited to 10.
